Basic Spanish for Law Enforcement

Course Details

This in-person, beginner language course provides officers with basic, practical language to use during traffic stops, arrests, domestic violence, medical emergencies and other common law enforcement scenarios.

The class is highly participative and engages students in group work, memorization games, and hands-on and acting activities, all designed to create a fun and effective language learning environment.

By the end of the course, officers are better equipped to manage situations involving Spanish-speaking individuals, ensuring the safety of all parties involved.

Cost: This class is free to all Tennessee law enforcement officers through the Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs (OCJP) Violent Crime Intervention Fund.
