Field Training Officer Coordinator

Course Details

This online training program equips current or aspiring FTO coordinators with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage and support Field Training Officer programs within their agencies. Coursework emphasizes leadership, accountability, documentation and instructional strategies essential for successful program coordination.

Participants engage in a mix of live online instruction, assigned readings and practical homework assignments. Classes meet one day per month for three consecutive months.

  • Structured curriculum and lesson delivery
  • Legal and policy considerations
  • Mentoring strategies

Who Should Attend: 
Law enforcement personnel responsible for managing or overseeing an FTO program, including supervisors, administrators and lead FTOs.

Cost: This class is free to all Tennessee law enforcement officers through the Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs (OCJP) Violent Crime Intervention Fund.
