First Line Leadership

This three-day course will help prepare first line supervisors for the transition from team member to team leader. Participants will learn the eight roles of effective leadership. Participants will develop communication skills and motivation techniques that will help ensure team and organizational effectiveness. Topics will also include coaching problem employees for improved work performance, ethics, and legal issues.Municipal and County Law Enforcement agencies in Tennessee’s Distressed, At-Risk, or Rural Counties will have their registration fees funded through LEICs Distressed, At-Risk, and Rural County Training (DARRT) Initiative. Rural counties include those with a population under 55,000 residents. —-If you are from a DARRT-qualified agency and are interested in this specific course, please contact UT LEIC for the registration information.
