SHOOTING SCENE RECONSTRUCTION
This five day course will teach both sworn and non-sworn investigators how to utilize scientific reasoning for incident reconstruction. Participants will have structured instruction with hands-on applications for the following concepts:
- Review of basic SIR concepts
- Advances in ammunition
- Review of bloodstain pattern analysis
- Methodology and requirements of a shooting reconstruction
- Human body as a target
- Survivability and movement
- Writing the reconstruction report
- Presentation of findings at trial
- Group processing of a motor vehicle shooting case
- Group study of an actual shooting case
