ALERRT Level 1 (Active Shooter)
Course Details
This dynamic course prepares first responders to isolate, distract and neutralize an active shooter. The course will culminate with dynamic force-on-force scenarios.
Topics covered include:
- Shooting and moving
- Threshold evaluation
- Hallway movements
- Concepts and principles of team movement
- Room entry techniques and setup
- Approach and breaching the crisis site
- Secondary responder tactics
- Improvised explosive devices
- Post-engagement priorities of work
- Dynamic force‑on‑force scenarios
Cost: This class is free to all Tennessee law enforcement officers through the Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs (OCJP) Violent Crime Intervention Fund.
