New Program Manager Named for National Forensic Science Institute (NFSI)
Deputy Chief Don Green of the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) has accepted the position and will begin work on April 1, 2008.
Don has been with KPD since 1979 and rose through the ranks to Deputy Chief. He currently heads the Criminal Investigations Division, including their CSI's. Don also has enjoyed a long relationship with LEIC and the NFSI and has been an instructor and technical assistance partner for years. Don is involved in many associations in leadership roles and well known in law enforcement circles in and out of Tennessee.
Don obtained both his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Tennessee. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session 204) and the 28th session of the Senior Management Institute for Police (PERF). Don also participated in the FBI's Leadership Fellows Program assigned to the FBI Academy 's Leadership and Management Science Unit.
Don will be responsible for all activities under the NFSI, including the National Forensic Academy, and will report to Dan Baker, Executive Director of the Law Enforcement Innovation Center.
